Every IP address on the internet is assigned to a specific country. The responsibility for assigning these IP to country mappings is down to the 5 official IP Assignment registrars, namely:- arin, apnic, lacnic, afrinic and ripencc. Therefore any IP address can be traced to a specific country.

GoNew accesses this information and compiles a single database from the above sources and automatically updates this information on a weekly basis.
FREE Database Access via our HTTP API
With this database we provide a FREE HTTP API interface for our members to be able to query our database and find information on country of origin for any IP address in the IPv4 range (0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255).
What's the catch?
There is NO catch, we only have one restriction and that is a quota on the amount of api calls that a user can make in one hour.
